Message your signal. The only time a signal has to be used is if you are about to interfere with the immediate path of another vehicle. For example, you do NOT have to have your signal on if you're in a turn-only lane. If nobody is close to you on the highway, you don't have to use it to switch lanes. Abiding by the 4-way stop laws, you do not actually have to use a signal, it is actual a courtesy signal. Simply being pulled over for not signaling is discretionary up to the officer. But yes, if you cut someone off, etc, without signaling, you can def be pulled. Just stating a few facts so everyone doesnt become anal about it, but I do highly promote signaling for safety.
